About Leah R Evans
Leah R. Evans is a youth keynote speaker, motivational speaker and self confidence specialist. She has committed her life to empower today's youth. Her personal story of struggle, grit and perseverance exemplifies what it takes to embrace change, feel, own and honor it with an unstoppable winning attitude.
Born and raised in the Steel Mill town of Pittsburgh PA as the middle child of six siblings, her family was not rich by any means. Her father worked as a warehouse worker for 33 years and retired never making more than $10 an hour. Six months after Leah was born her mother suffered a nervous breakdown and was diagnosed with a mental illness that afflicted her Leah’s entire life. While her mother was in and out of the hospital Leah was forced to grow up quickly. At the age of 10 her older sister forced her to smoke marijuana while their father was at work and their mother was in the hospital. That one day led to an on and off addiction to marijuana and many years of bad decisions.
At the age of 17 she had a son, but she didn’t let that stop her. She graduated from high school on honor roll. She had a daughter at the age of 21 and another son at the age of 30. Despite the fact that Leah has three children and raised them as a single parent she is unstoppable.
In 1999 Leah discovered her passion is to help young people. Her tumultuous past motivated her to buy a house and open up her doors to serve the community. She orchestrated and facilitated a Non-Traditional Home Day Care Center. She employed women and mentored teenage and young adult females while providing quality care for hundreds of children from a socioeconomic group. After four years of providing a service in her community she wrote a grant to convert her For-Profit program into a Non-Profit Organization under a 501c3 Sector. Her doors remained open another four years until home daycare centers began to over saturate the community. During this phase Leah experienced a paradigm shift as her program doors closed. She realized there is a lack of teenage and young adult motivational programs in communities across the US. It was during those awkward teenage years she was most misunderstood. She became the change she wants to see in teenagers and in young adults as a keynote speaker and motivational speaker for young people. She naturally builds self confidence in people. Where many would see nothing but overwhelming odds stacked against them, Leah saw the completion of a season in her career as creativity and innovation crying out. Her insightful perspective is a stress reducer.
Today, Leah is a Youth Keynote Speaker, Motivational Speaker and Self Confidence Specialist. Her life’s story is where she draws innovation and insights to methodology empower children, teens, young adults and parents. Her keynote speeches impacts audiences and her workshops are life changing!
